GLS-01 Glass Ink （one-component）

GLS-01 is a one-component, solvent-based and press-ready screen printing ink designed for toughened (tempered) or untoughened glass, ceramics, metal, aluminum, chrome-plated parts and coated substrates. GLS-01 is also suitable for pad printing process. GLS-01 needs baking process for complete curing.

SUBSTRATE EXAMPLES

Flat glass decoration, glass panels, glass and ceramic titles, monitors, mirrors, decoration of container glass such as cosmetic jars and flacons, glass bottles, chrome-plated parts such as chrome-plated writing utensil or panels, etc.

HIGHLIGHTS

High brilliance, high pigmentation, high hardness and good abrasion resistance, high temperature resistance, low odor, good leveling, excellent adhesion, good hot water resistance, excellent alcohol, alkaline and acid resistance.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Ink Flowability: 25-45mm/min. (Parallel Plate Viscometer)

Ink Viscosity: 80-100P

USER INFORMATION

Mesh: all types of commercially available polyester fabrics. A mesh count between 80-420 is recommended.

Stencil: solvent resistant emulsions

Squeegee: 75-80 durometer hardness solvent resistant squeegees.

Coverage: dependent on ink viscosity, mesh size and hole configuration, ink deposit, etc.

Ink Adjustment & Printing: think down the ink by adding 15%-20% diluent and 1.5%-1.8% adhesion promoter (mixing ratio by weight), stir homogeneously the ink mixture prior to printing. When using adhesion promoter, the ink mixture must be processed within 1 month (referred to 20-25℃ and 40-60% RH), as irreversible damage such as gelation can occur. Higher temperature will reduce the processing window and lead to a shorter pot life.

Drying & Curing Parameters: 8 min. to 12 min. @ 160℃～180℃.

Cleanup: use GLSV-01 thinner for screen wash, or other solvent blends as recommended.

Handling & Storage: please refer to MSDS for safe handling. The shelf life for the ink in its original & unopened container is at least 12 months from date of manufacture if stored at a room temperature of 15-25℃. Under different conditions, particularly higher storage temperatures, the shelf life will be reduced.

REMARKS

For metal parts such as SPTE parts or aluminum part, it may show antitrust oil residues on the surface which can result in reduced adhesion of the ink film. In this case, please remove the oil residues by pre-cleaning.
