MCS-01 Mirror Silver Ink 

MCS-01 is a solvent-based and press-ready screen printing ink for printing on the reverse side (second surface) transparent substrates to create mirror, chrome, and metallic effects. The ink film exhibits a mirror-like reflective surface when viewed through the top or first surface of the transparent substrate. It looks life the silvering of glass.

HIGHLIGHTS

Good mesh opening, mild odour, high hardness and good abrasion resistance, excellent chemical resistance.

USER INFORMATION

Mesh: all types of commercially available polyester mesh. A mesh count between 100-140 is recommended.

Stencil: solvent resistant emulsions

Squeegee: 70-80 durometer hardness PU squeegees.

Coverage: dependent on ink viscosity, mesh size and hole configuration, ink deposit, etc.

Ink Adjustment & Printing: when thinned down by addition of 10-30% of diluent, the ink must be stirred homogeneously at low shear to prevent damaging the aluminum pigment. Maintain ink temperature at 65°-90°F (18°-32°C) for optimum print drying performance. Lower temperatures increase the ink viscosity, impairing both flow and drying. Elevated temperatures

lower the ink viscosity, reducing print definition, film thickness and opacity.

Drying & Curing Parameters: 8 min. to 12 min. @ 160℃～180℃. Drying time depends on mesh used and other factors

affecting ink film thickness.

Cleanup: use MCSV-01 thinner for screen wash, or other solvent blends as recommended.

Handling & Storage: please refer to MSDS for safe handling. The shelf life for the ink in its original & unopened container is at least 12 months from date of manufacture if stored at a room temperature of 15-25℃. Under different conditions, particularly higher storage temperatures, the shelf life will be reduced.

REMARKS

Mirror Ink is very sensitive to contamination and reacts immediately resulting in a clouding of the mirror effect. Possible sources of failure in this respect are poorly cleaned screens or stencils, or dirty spatulas or stirrers. A clean working environment is essential, and the use of a new, unused screen is recommended.
